We are responsible for the following:
- Managing trees in parks, golf courses, towns and city centres, and schools across the district
- Ensuring appropriate protection is given to important trees within the district boundary
- Consideration of retaining and protecting trees on proposed development sites
- Ensuring trees are replaced where consent has been granted for their removal
- Ensuring any breach is investigated where trees are removed or harmed without prior Planning Authority consent
- Administering tree work applications and notifications when received by tree owners
If you think a tree is dangerous or have seen a tree or branch that has fallen on council land, especially a highway or footpath, please report it immediately.
