Your safety is important to us, and your report could help protect you and your community.
It is an offence to allow any dog to be dangerous or out of control in a public place.
The dog does not have to bite someone to be considered dangerous. The owner can still be prosecuted and fined up to £5000 if their dog is being aggressive.
You can use this form to report:
- a dog that is roaming free and being aggressive towards other people or animals
- a dog that has attacked a person or animal, and there is further risk of injury
Support during weekends and out of hours
There is no support for dog collections on weekends or out of hours. If you spot a dangerous do on the weekend, you should ring the police on 101.
If the call is about a dog attacking a human, West Yorkshire Police will investigate the incident. The details will also be passed to the Dog Wardens to investigate.
Before you start, you will need to tell us:
- the exact location of the dangerous dog
- a description of the dog (it's breed, size, colour, age etc)
