It is an offence to allow any dog to be dangerous or out of control in a public place.
The dog does not have to bite someone - you can still be prosecuted and fined up to £5000 if the dog is being aggressive.
Use this form to report:
- A dog that is roaming free and is being aggressive towards other people or animals
- A dog that has attacked a person or animal and there is further risk of injury because the dog is still in the area
Please note: There are no provisions for dog collections on a weekend or out of hours.
Dangerous dogs out of hours need to be referred to the police.
If the call is in relation to a dog on human attack, the details will be passed to the Dog Wardens to be investigated. West Yorkshire Police will also investigate this so please contact them on the number below:
Police non Emergency - 101
